New Night Downtown, Newark's premier street festival, took over Main Street this past Saturday for what became a six-hour love letter from the dozens of restaurants, musicians, businesses and vendors to the more than 3,000 visitors who strolled up and down the avenue in search of food, beverages, rides, live music and art.

In addition to the many businesses whose booths lined Main Street from Chapel Street to The University of Delaware Green, restaurants like The Stone Balloon Ale House, Gelatto's, Taverna and Klondike Kate's doled out easy-to-walk-with taste sensations. The Newark Arts Alliance held sway in the park at the corner of Academy and Main, as close to 20 artists and artisans showcased hand-made pottery, paintings, textiles and jewelry.

Newark Life was on hand for this year's festival, and has provided a photo gallery of the many sights, tastes and sounds that were enjoyed by thousands.
