14th Annual Shearing Day and Herb Sale

Held at the Historic Greenbank Mills & Philips Farm

Take a step on the wooly side and join us Saturday, April 28th from 10am-4pm for Greenbank Mills & Philips Farm’s 14th annual Shearing Day & Herb Sale! Witness living history with the shearing of our heritage sheep throughout the day as we ready them for the warmer weather! Learn colonial skills as we demonstrate hand processing from sheep to shawl, including natural dyeing and spinning. Knead some yeast action? Our bread oven will be fired up for succulent colonial bread baking demonstrations. Guided tours of our historic mill will be available and our newest exhibit, “Meet The Flock: The Sheep of Greenbank”, will be on display. Every year we also have a wonderful selection of Amish-grown herbs available for purchase, so come get a head start on your garden with us! Pre-orders are available now and you can visit our website or give us a call to make sure your favorite herbs are set aside for you. We will also have a variety of our wonderful herbs available for purchase during the event.

New for this year, we will be having live music throughout the day! Chapel Street Junction performs from 10 am -12 pm. Chapel Street Junction is a five piece band based in Newark, DE, focusing on bluegrass and Irish Folk music. Then hitting the stage from 12-4pm is Seven Rings out of Wilmington, DE, with a focus on Irish music and classic rock. All music will be played acoustic. Musical performances are generously sponsored by Sun East Federal Credit Union. Food will be available for purchase and Big Oyster Brewery will be onsite pouring some delicious samples. The Hungry Spork and SwampTown Food Truck will be serving up their delicious dishes.
