Tree Festival
Celebrate our ecosystem's giants
Look up! Celebrate our ecosystem's giants at the Tree Festival on Sunday, September 24th. This all-day event features family friendly fun and opportunities to learn more about the nature that surrounds us. As you wander through the gardens, gaze into the Woods Path canopy, don a pair of Lepidoptera wings, and switch to “tree time” by adding your milestones along the growth rings of a tree. Discover the lives of trees from seed to stump through conversations with Mt. Cuba Center’s Docents, Education staff and arborists as well as our partners: the Delaware Center for Horticulture, Bartlett Tree Experts, and the Morris Arboretum. Grab a coffee from Scission Espresso while you peruse a selection of native trees and herbaceous perennials for sale by Redbud Native Plant Nursery. Flatland Drive Bluegrass Band will be the day’s live musical entertainment.
Kick back, grab a bite to eat from one of our food trucks (Troops BBQ and the Box Lunch), or play lawn games on the Main Lawn. Tree Festival activities are included with general admission (Free for season pass holders and children under 6, $5 for children ages 6-17, and $10 for adults).
